Overview

Browser helper object that open advertiment based on the web pages you visit and the terms entered into forms.

From the vendor: Bargain Buddy delivers relevant contextual information to you in the form of advertisements based on URLs and/or search terms you enter when navigating the Internet. Bargain Buddy does not obtain personal information from you. We do not transmit or collect your browsing activity and do not store any of information that records your browsing behavior. On a daily basis, Bargain Buddy collects only aggregate statistics about the URLs and search terms you enter. Bargain Buddy does not build up a profile for you or attempt to correlate demographic or personal information. By downloading the Bargain Buddy, you accept the Bargain Buddy License Agreement, which gives eXact Advertising LLC permission to display relevant contextual information. Uninstall Bargain Buddy with FreeFixer

I'm working on a general purpose tool for removing unwanted software. The tool is called FreeFixer and can help you remove unwanted Browser Helper Objects, Internet Explorer toolbars and software that starts automatically when you reboot your computer, so it can offer some assistance while uninstalling Bargain Buddy. The manual removal instructions listed below will help you to identify what to delete with FreeFixer.

Manual removal

Please follow the instructions below if you would like to remove Bargain Buddy manually. Please notice that you must follow the instructions very carefully and delete everything that is mentioned. In most cases the removal will fail if one single item is not deleted. If Bargain Buddy remains on your system after stepping through the removal instructions, please double-check by stepping through them again.

1. Start the registry editor. This is done by clicking Start then Run. (The Run dialog will appear.) Type regedit and click OK. (The registry editor will open.)
2. Browse to the key:
   'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Run'
3. In the right pane, delete the values called 'Bargains' and 'apd', if they exists.
4. Delete 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Browser Helper Objects \ {CE31A1F7-3D90-4874-8FBE-A5D97F8BC8F1}' if it exists.
5. Delete 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Uninstall \ Bargain Buddy' if it exists.
6. Exit the registry editor.
7. Restart your computer.
8. Delete the following directory:
   %ProgramsDir%\Bargain Buddy\
   Note: %ProgramsDir% is a variable (?). By default, this is C:\Program Files.
