NavHelper

Overview

NavHelper, also called NavExcel, is a browser helper object that redirects your address bar searches to apps.webservicehost.com. The data displayed on this page will be based on keywords entered in search engine forms.

NavHelper is bundled with "Ares Galaxy", "CD-Cover Editor", "Spam Nullifier", "Robust Internet Speed Booster". NavHelper is also distributed with screensavers from mvr.us and with games from nstorm.com.

From the vendor: "The only information we collect is the session-specific IP address of the computer you are using to access our search and navigation services in order to deliver to you the most geographically-appropriate search results or websites. This information is not stored after the search or keyword navigation is completed." Source

"We anticipate over 25 million Internet users worldwide to be NavExcel Keyword enabled in the upcoming year so that when they type in your registered NavExcel Keyword into their browser address bar, they will be taken directly to your website.

Advertisers pay only for the traffic you receive to your site. NavExcel requires only a prepayment of US$5.00 to register a NavExcel keyword. This prepayment will be used to offset the payment for the first 1,000 pageviews sent by us to your site. Following this initial period, you will be billed on a monthly basis for the keyword traffic sent to your site at a rate of US$5.00 per 1,000 pageviews."
