Overview
"SEARCH ENHANCEMENT will modify your Internet browser default settings by redirecting the search button
link to a SEARCH ENHANCEMENT Web page. SEARCH ENHANCEMENT will add additional links into your "favorites"
or "bookmarks" directories, will provide you with links and ads based on the information you view and the
Web sites you visit, and will redirect certain URL's including your browser default 404-error page to a
SEARCH ENHANCEMENT Web page.
Due to the ever-changing nature of software distributed on the Internet, SEARCH ENHANCEMENT has included
an auto update feature to ensure that you have the most recently released version of the SEARCH ENHANCEMENT
software. You acknowledge that SEARCH ENHANCEMENT or parties appointed by SEARCH ENHANCEMENT may from time
to time provide programming fixes, updates and upgrades to you, including automatic updates to SEARCH

Uninstall procedure
Uninstall Scbar from "Add/Remove Programs" in the Windows® Control Panel. Look for entries called "Batch Assistant", "Data Compiler",
"Indexing Function", "SBM OS", "Search OS", "TP HTTP" and "URL.IE APP". If you run into problems, please
contact the vendor for the most up-to-date uninstall instructions:

Uninstall Scbar with FreeFixer
I'm working on a general purpose tool for removing unwanted software.
The tool is called FreeFixer
and can help you remove unwanted Browser Helper Objects, Internet Explorer toolbars
and software that starts automatically when you reboot your computer, so it can offer some
assistance while uninstalling Scbar. The manual removal instructions
listed below will help you to identify what to delete with
FreeFixer.

Manual removal
Please follow the instructions below if you would like to remove Scbar manually. Please
notice that you must follow the instructions very carefully and delete everything that is mentioned. In most
cases the removal will fail if one single item is not deleted. If Scbar remains on your system
after stepping through the removal instructions, please double-check by stepping through them again.

Start the registry editor. This is done by clicking Start then Run.
(The Run dialog will appear.) Type regedit and click OK. (The registry editor will open.)
- Browse to the key:
'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Run'
- In the right pane, delete the value called 'SearchEnhancement' and 'WindowEnhancer', if it exists.
- Delete 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Classes \ CLSID \ {00041A26-7033-432C-94C7-6371DE343822}', if it exists.
- Delete 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Classes \ CLSID \ {22941A26-7033-432C-94C7-6371DE343822}', if it exists.
- Delete 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Browser Helper Objects \ {00041A26-7033-432C-94C7-6371DE343822}', if it exists.
- Delete 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Browser Helper Objects \ {22941A26-7033-432C-94C7-6371DE343822}', if it exists.
- Exit the registry editor.
- Restart your computer.

Start Windows Explorer and delete:
%ProgramsDir%\scbar\
Note: %ProgramsDir% is a variable (?). By default, this is C:\Program Files.
- Start Microsoft Internet Explorer.
- In Internet Explorer, click Tools -> Internet Options.
- Click the Programs tab -> Reset Web Settings.
