PurityScan.wcpt
Overview
PurityScan.wcpt, also called PuritySweep, is distributed by Clickspring LLC and
bundled with programs such as Grokster.
PurityScan.wcpt starts automatically after reboot and spawns pop-up windows.
PurityScan.wcpt
has an automatic update feature and may install third party products.
PurityScan.wcpt drops its file in %SystemDir%.
Note: %SystemDir% is a variable (?). By default, this is C:\Windows\System (Windows 95/98/Me), C:\WINNT\System32 (Windows NT/2000), or C:\Windows\System32 (Windows XP).

be launched for the duration of time you spend online. These consoles
may continue to be launched as long as you have PurityScan installed

Uninstall PurityScan.wcpt with FreeFixer

assistance while uninstalling PurityScan.wcpt. The manual removal instructions
listed below will help you to identify what to delete with

Manual removal
Please follow the instructions below if you would like to remove PurityScan.wcpt manually. Please
notice that you must follow the instructions very carefully and delete everything that is mentioned. In most
cases the removal will fail if one single item is not deleted. If PurityScan.wcpt remains on your system
after stepping through the removal instructions, please double-check by stepping through them again.

Start the registry editor. This is done by clicking Start then Run.
(The Run dialog will appear.) Type regedit and click OK. (The registry editor will open.)
- Browse to the key:
'HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Run'
- In the right pane, look value called 'WCPT', remember the file (*) it points to, delete the value.
- Exit the registry editor.
- Restart your computer.

Start Windows Explorer and delete:
the file (*) mentioned above. Should be located in %SystemDir%.
